Handpicked this week - June 25

Welcome to my Handpicked by Milk and Honey Group newsletter. For new subscribers, in this weekly newsletter I share my top picks for the week - trends or particularly noteworthy design. Each week I share an interior, a real estate listing and a style item that I think are special. I hope you'll let me know what you think!

1] Handpicked: INTERIOR

For those of you who have been following us for a while, you know that my jam is renovating historic (or older homes). I don't focus on new construction (although I do collaborate with new construction teams in a design capacity for clients) because I love the mind-buzzing puzzle and patina of older houses.

However, Alma Homes is an exception. A new build team in Minnesota, I love their Instagram feed and many of their ideas for creative functionality, especially in kitchens and mudrooms.

Give them a follow on IG and see what you think... In particular take a look at their reels (this is a favorite on mudroom functionality) to get ideas for your next renovation!

2) Handpicked: REAL ESTATE

"Embrace the potential" is my love language in real estate. I saw the description of this house in Winchester and had to look. First I noted the owners' deep love of teal (paint, draperies, tile, carpet) but secondly the wonderful bones. Beautiful paneling. Spacious rooms. And a lovely piece of property.

I particularly love this last photo - the old grasscloth and aqua tones in the map are a wonderful color and texture combination and a perfect inspiration for the future owner.

3) Handpicked: STYLE

I fell in love with the artist Chambers Austelle after I glimpsed a portrait painted by her in a house in Harbour Island (Bahamas). The bulk of her work showcases bold women, juxtaposed with a 50s throw-back aesthetic that encapsulates the duality of modern femininity and roles. I particularly love her bold colors and graphic art pops.

The last piece I have hanging in my house in Rhode Island, and the gorgeous ocean hues are a perfect counterpoint to the crisp white paint.

That's all from our team this week - can't wait until next week!
