Handpicked this week - July 16

Welcome to my Handpicked by Milk and Honey Group newsletter. For new subscribers, in this weekly newsletter I share my top picks for the week - trends or particularly noteworthy design. Each week I share an interior, a real estate listing and a style item that I think are special. I hope you'll let me know what you think!

1] Handpicked: INTERIOR

I am loving the return of color in interiors and am thrilled that our clients are asking for color again (thank you Farrow and Ball!). The palettes are rich and sophisticated, subtle and yet saturated. We are seeing requests for bolder choices in smaller, specific spaces (powder rooms, butler's pantries and wet bars, libraries) while primary spaces draw on a spectrum of colors - almost like the gradation of a sunrise. Corvino Design, based in New Jersey and serving New York, encapsulates this fresh and new palette, as seen below in some of my picks.

There is a heavy focus on highlighting the distinct architecture of the spaces - curvatures in stairs and bookshelves, and lots of texture in the stone and fabrics. What do you think?

2) Handpicked: REAL ESTATE

This adorable 1860 farmhouse in Arlington is so charming on the outside, with its sweet Greek Revival porch. Sadly there isn't much else to herald on the inside currently, save for the robin's egg blue pantry. But it's $739K and for the Boston and Cambridge suburbs, that's a STEAL.

A lovely lot and the opportunity to add-on (perhaps just to the porch) make this a must-see in my book!

3) Handpicked: STYLE

I have said it about 10 billion times, but lighting is probably my favorite fixture to source. Much of the lighting I select is from Europe - mostly British and French sources - and I spend a huge amount of time on it for my clients. Lighting - like jewelry - can take a neutral space and make it hugely impactful, so it's worth investing in.

Mathieu Challieres is a favorite from France. I have long loved his bird series (so whimsical!) and I am currently obsessed with his plaster fixtures. Sculptural yet light, they're the perfect twist on traditional shapes.

I'm currently spec'ing the Lanterne de Novembre now for a British client moving to Concord. What do you think?

That's all from our team this week - can't wait until next week!
