Handpicked this week - June 4

Welcome to my Handpicked by Milk and Honey Group newsletter. For new subscribers, in this weekly newsletter I share my top picks for the week - trends or particularly noteworthy design. Each week I share an interior, a real estate listing and a style item that I think are special. I hope you'll let me know what you think!

1] Handpicked: INTERIOR

Today I'm showcasing another California design firm, Ausland Interiors. I love the airy indoor/outdoor feel (obviously), but I also love the tailored and more structured elements - lighting in particular! Ausland is - like our team - straddling homes that are full of light with moodier spaces that reflect a return to European tradition.

What do you think of these spaces? Are you all in on the California vibe or more inspired by the European patina?

2) Handpicked: REAL ESTATE

We have a cherished client (and now dear friend) who is going to kill me when she sees that I'm posting this house, but you'll know why I had to feature it. Being sold "as is," someone tried to put some lipstick on it but really failed with the junky cabinetry and paint refresh.

There is so much potential in revealing the special details of this historic home (did you look at the front door????). I'm really hoping the new owner (Bex, I'm talking to you) will be as inspired as I was in seeing this one.

3) Handpicked: STYLE

The longer I work in design and interiors, the more I rely on vintage pieces to create a custom look for my clients. Vintage and antique furniture adds so much richness to a space - there is literally no equal to authentic mid-century pieces, the historic wear on English pine, the rich patina of old brass.

I really on Circa 20th Century for some classic modern pieces - pencil reed rattan, Milo Baughman, etc - that are expertly curated.

Gorgeous, no?

Give Dave a follow on IG and tell him I sent you! Every piece is extremely beautiful and of pristine quality.

That's all from our team this week - can't wait until next week!
