Handpicked this week - May 5

Welcome to my Handpicked by Milk and Honey Group newsletter. For new subscribers, in this weekly newsletter, I share my top picks for the week - trends or particularly noteworthy designs. Each week I share an interior, a real estate listing, and a style item that I think is special. I hope you'll let me know what you think!

1] Handpicked: INTERIOR

Imprint House was founded by an Australian (natch) interior stylist working in print magazines. Her spaces are extremely edited - each chosen piece is individually beautiful and can stand alone. I love this theory of styling - choosing singular pieces that shine by themselves, and give greater impact in a collected whole. Imprint House sells many of the pieces shown: my particular favorite resource as a designer is her oversized linen Noguchi-inspired pendant.

I definitely recommend subscribing to her newsletter - it has so many tips for a composed and peaceful home.

2) Handpicked: REAL ESTATE

This house in Lincoln seems to have just gone off the market, but it was such a treasure I had to feature it! Renovated by an architect, it has so many beautiful mid-century design details and is completely harmonious with its location. If you are not familiar with the hallmarks of this period, you can read more about the relationship of this period to the surroundings here.

I love the square tile in the bathroom and the lovely exterior colors. What do you think?

3) Handpicked: STYLE

Yes, I'm featuring yet another artist! I absolutely fell in love with Emily Keating Snyder recently and had to showcase her work. My favorite part of her biography is this: "I studied art history in New York and Florence, cities that place huge value on high art. But I also grew up sewing, making jewelry and building cardboard dollhouses. My work is equally informed by it all." This really spoke to me as I probably spent 10 years making paper dolls and dollhouses myself. I loved using color and pattern together and creating something out of nothing (usually shoeboxes and shirt cardboard).

I really love the combination of sewn thread on her paintings - so tactile and creative! What do you think?

That's all from our team this week - can't wait until next week!
