Handpicked this week - April 28

Welcome to my Handpicked by Milk and Honey Group newsletter. For new subscribers, in this weekly newsletter, I share my top picks for the week - trends or particularly noteworthy designs. Each week I share an interior, a real estate listing, and a style item that I think is special. I hope you'll let me know what you think!

1] Handpicked: INTERIOR

Based in Alabama, I don't have a lot to share about Meredith Sherrill from her IG or website. Her profile is brilliant: "designer and mother, among other things." Isn't that the truth? Meredith's work really stands out from typical Southern designers - very clean and crisp with beautiful European details. I first found her work when I was designing a vanity for a historic home and was looking for interesting custom curvature. See the first image below...

I love that her work has bold details but overall is very restrained and edited. What do you think?

2) Handpicked: REAL ESTATE

THIS HOUSE IS CALLING TO ME!!!!! Smack in the middle of downtown Concord, it's an incredible historic brick-end Colonial (say that three times fast). Wow are the draperies from another era (does one of the valances have birds on top of popcorn? I can't tell). There are so many amazing architectural details that I would just love to tackle. I actually don't know a lot about brick-end Colonials as a subset of the Colonial period (usually materials are reflective of their geography), but I assume that the brick sides have something to do with the double chimneys.

This home is the centerpiece of Concord's historic district, but do not be afraid! I sat on Concord's Historic Districts Commission for 3+ years and would love to tackle this one! Who's in?

3) Handpicked: STYLE

Mixed Matters is based in North Carolina and has a lovely, curated selection of home decor including rugs, vintage bamboo furniture and antique decor items (the needlepoints are amazing!) as well as art. All of their pieces are amazing and can bring just the right patina to your home.

Sign up for their rug drop if you're in the market! Their prices are also affordable for the quality of their pieces.

That's all from our team this week - can't wait until next week!
