Handpicked this week - May 12

Welcome to my Handpicked by Milk and Honey Group newsletter. For new subscribers, in this weekly newsletter, I share my top picks for the week - trends or particularly noteworthy designs. Each week I share an interior, a real estate listing, and a style item that I think is special. I hope you'll let me know what you think!

1] Handpicked: INTERIOR

Based in London, I have featured Laura Stephens Interior Design before, but wanted to share some of her work again. When we are trying to stay on a tighter budget (especially for second homes where the investment merits more restraint), design choices really need to pack a punch. You can take greater risks in these homes too when they're not a primary living area - seasonal living means experimenting with choices that just bring joy but might not feel as practical in everyday life. Bold paint and upholstery choices are a fantastic way to do this, and will keep you on budget without sacrificing design.

Blue kitchens! Coral banquettes! Colorful collections! Which is your favorite?

2) Handpicked: REAL ESTATE

This house is in the very best location in Concord and I was just salivating when it came on the market. It seems to be under contract now - I assume by a developer - as it needed a LOT of work and the neighborhood and its real estate values can support a hefty investment. The entire Nashawtuc Hill area was part of the old Simon Willard farm owned in 1883 by railroad magnate Charles Henry Hurd and then expanded by the Wheeler family.

Oh my that kitchen! I have heard there is quite a bit of water in the area, so a sump pump and French drain system will be in order. But I love walking in this neighborhood and the beautiful view of the open field that centers this loop. Looking for all intel on who gets to call this house home next!

3) Handpicked: STYLE

I am completely obsessed with Chez Dede. I want the art, the bags, the life... all of it. Self-described as "an ideal world + boutique fantasque," Chez Dede is a concept by life partners who epitomize "la dolce vita."

I did an obsessive doom-scroll on the couple's Instagram as I imagined a time when Tim and I are bopping around Rome (or Lake Como) and enjoying meals like this.

That's all from our team this week - can't wait until next week!
